Proposal 1 – 4,601 votes yes, 14,068 votes no
Modification of the allocation and redistribution process
This proposed constitutional amendment would freeze the number of state senators at 63, change the state’s population enumeration process, remove some provisions that violate the US Constitution, repeal and change some requirements for the appointment of co -executive directors of the redistribution commission and change the way of drawing district boundaries for the legislative offices of Congress and State. Will the proposed amendment be approved?
Proposition 2 – 9,718 votes yes, 8,764 votes no
Right to clean air, clean water and a healthy environment
The proposed amendment to Article I of the New York Constitution would establish the right of every person to clean air, water and a healthy environment. Will the proposed amendment be approved?
Proposal 3 – 4,124 votes yes, 14,804 votes no
Elimination of the 10-day advance voter registration requirement
The proposed amendment would remove the current requirement in Article II, section 5, that a citizen must be registered to vote at least ten days before an election and allow the legislature to pass laws allowing a citizen to s ” register to vote less than ten days before the election. Will the proposed amendment be approved?
Proposition 4 – 4,712 votes yes, 14,166 votes no
Allow voting by absent ballot without excuse
The proposed amendment would remove from the current provision on mail-in ballots the requirement that an absent voter must be unable to appear at polling stations due to county absence, illness or a physical disability. Will the proposed amendment be approved?
Proposition 5 – 7,811 votes yes, 10,087 votes no
New York City Civil Court Jurisdiction Increase
The proposed amendment would increase the jurisdiction of the New York City civil court by allowing it to hear and decide claims up to $ 50,000 instead of the current $ 25,000. Will the proposed amendment be approved?
State Supreme Court Justice (Oswego County votes only) – Danielle M. Fogel (REP) with 12,607 votes. Opponent Anthony Brindisi (DEM) obtained 5,932 votes.
