Siraj welcomes agreement between JI Karachi and Sindh government on LG issue

Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Sirajul Haq hailed the agreement between Karachi JI branch and Sindh government on local government issue.

The two sides signed the agreement late Thursday night as the JI announced the end of the 29-day sit-in in front of the Sindh Assembly following the PPP’s assurance to take over the law recently passed by local bodies and to modify it in accordance with the requirements of the Jamaat. -e-Islami.

In a statement issued Friday from Mansoorah, he said, “I congratulate JI Karachi Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rahman, the leaders, workers of JI and the people of Karachi for winning the cause of the people of the port city.”

Questioning the absence of opposition members from the critical Senate session, Sirajul Haq held the Treasury and opposition sides responsible for pushing the country into IMF slavery.

He said the main opposition parties provide an easy guide to the government on every important occasion. The Jamaat-e-Islami believed, he said, that the three parties (the PTI, the PML-N and the PPP) had played friendly matches throughout the three and a half years of Imran Khan’s government .

It was not the first time that the irresponsible attitude of the opposition presented the PTI with an opportunity to pass the mini-budget and the State Bank amendment bill from the upper house, the two parties backed the government on the issue of surrender before the powerful international establishment, he said.

The nation, he said, will not forgive those who sold national institutions to the IMF by submitting completely to IMF conditions.

The head of the JI expressed his sorrow over the martyrdom of 10 soldiers during a terrorist incident in Kech Balochistan. He shared his condolences with the families of the soldiers and said the JI stands firmly with the Pakistani military in its war against terrorism. He also expressed concern over the increase in terrorist incidents in the province, saying there was a need to devise a solid strategy to thwart the plots of Pakistan’s enemies.
