Thiruvananthapuram: Kozhikode Balussery Legislator Sachin Dev and Thiruvananthapuram Mayor Arya Rajendran got married on Sunday.
The wedding took place in a simple ceremony at the AKG center in Thiruvananthapuram.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, PA Tourism Minister Mohammed Riyas and CPM State Secretary MV Govindan were among the many dignitaries who attended the ceremony.
The newlyweds had asked guests not to bring gifts, but rather to donate the money saved for gifts to the chief minister’s relief fund or nursing homes.
Sachin Dev is the youngest legislator in Kerala’s 15th Legislative Assembly, while Arya is the country’s youngest mayor.
Sachin Dev, a native of Nellikode in Kozhikode, is also the Indian Joint Secretary of the Federation of Students of India, the youth wing of CPM and a member of the Kozhikode district committee.
Arya became mayor at the age of 21 while still a student at All Saints College, Thiruvananthapuram. She is also a member of the SFI State Committee and a member of the CPM Regional Committee.
