BJP will retain power in Manipur: Amit Shah

The Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday expressed confidence that the party will retain power in Manipur and added that the Central and State governments have worked together in harmony to end the differences between hills and valleys.

BJP National Chairman Jagat Prakash Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah held a joint press conference at the party headquarters in New Delhi on Saturday. Speaking here today, Shah said: “The BJP will once again form a government in Manipur. The state has moved from blockades, bandits, violence, drugs to organic farming, medical institutions, etc. PM Modi and our CM from Manipur have worked hard to end the differences between hills and valleys.

Assembly elections are being held in Manipur from February 28 to March 5, 2022, in two phases, to elect 60 members of the Manipur Legislative Assembly.

Former BJP leader Shah pointed out that Prime Minister Narendra Modi enjoys maximum popularity among all India’s prime ministers since independence and that the BJP will benefit in those ballot-bound states.

“For nearly 7.5 years, the full majority BJP government has been in place in the country under the leadership of Narendra Modi. Our government under the leadership of the Prime Minister has made it clear to the people of the country that an elected government wants to raise the standard of living of the citizens,” he said.

Shah added, “In these five states, the popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji has been rated higher than the popularity of any prime minister of independent India, and the BJP directly benefits from this in this election.”

The 2022 Legislative Assembly elections are being held in five states namely Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa, Punjab and Manipur. The results will be announced on March 10.
